I was reading about Adobe Air today on http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/5-more-cool-adobe-air-applications/ and got interested in some of the applications people have made using it. I’ve installed Air on my iBook and work PC, but I couldn’t see a Linux version. But there is one! Adobe Labs have it http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/air/
I’ll give it a test later tonight and see how it runs.

Browsing the Apple support pages today in the iBook section, I found a link to a battery exchange program. Apparently, some iBook batteries have faults which will cause them to heat up. I checked my iBook’s serial and the battery serial and I have one of the affected batteries. So I entered all my details and a replacement should be with me within 7 to 9 days. Amazing to think that my 4 year old iBook which I bought over a week ago second hand qualifies for a free replacement battery. I was planning to buy a new battery also as I only get 20min out of the current one. Thanks for saving me £89, Apple!

From http://www.joost.com/forums/p/2008/06/what-joost-says-about-linux/
“Hi,
We’re currently working on improving the performance of the PC and Mac
versions available today.
Although there has been demand for a Linux version of Joost, we have to
prioritize our business objectives. As a result, we do not have plans to
release a Linux version at this time.
Kind regards,
Lodewijk
The Joost Support Team.”
I don’t think it helped that the person that wrote to Joost said “I’m heavily disappointed in your so-called “developers” who never seem to f*cking respond on the forums. How about you fix this?”. Is this really the way we want the Linux scene to look?
